a conference suggestion

Ok, I have a suggestion, mainly because of something I've been seeing on zbp for a while now.

I often go into conferences and see the conference rapidly filling up. At this point, people often suggest going into a private conference, because they hold more people. The disadvantage to this, s that people who log into the system and are not involved in the active conference may not know the code, even though it is available to anyone who wants it. So my suggestion is this. Why not change the private conferencing key to the * key similar to the studio 55 system, and have conference 6 be the unlimited conference, where there is no limit to the number of users in the conference. it can't hurt, and it will stop those endless private conferences from being created. I'm often seeing myself and others being in a situation where they are unable to contact any participants o fthe private conference, and those people are unfortunately locked out. If conference 6 were turned into a lmiitless conference, it would solve this problem, since most of the conferences described above are codes that anyone can have, but not necessarily available to anyone who wants them.

If people are willing to giveout their code, then that's fine, but part of the reason people move to Private Conferencing is so they can be in a private conference with no interference from strangers that they don't know. I guess my thing is: Why create a private conference if you don't mind just anyone coming in? The private conferences can fit only 4 more people than public ones. Bottom line is: I think the reason why there is a limit on how many people in a conference is because it takes a lot of computer energy and money to run the phone system, and for the most part, there's only on average 15 people on the system at one time. I don't see a point, really. Now, if there were more people that went on the phone system, I could agree that this should be taken in to consideration.

An unlimmitted conference would be a definite no no! It would be waaay too crowded and just...ug, no!

Not really a very good idea. Yes, there are 20 people that go on there sometimes, but it doesn't happen very often. It's a really cool thing to do, but not a good thing to do for the phone system. If it was unlimited, it would be really hectic.

the reason that the limit of people were put on the conferences in the first place is because in the beginning, there were no limits, and when you get 15 people in one conference, it's chaos to the max. there are times that a private conference gets filled up with 10 people and it is just too much.
simon, might i suggest talking to the people you talk to on a regular basis on zbp and come up with private conference codes that you'll use each time. i know that the people that i go into private with have certain codes they will use.

i agree, unlimited confrencing is an absolute no!. i like it the way it is, actually and no one else seems to have a problem with that setup

I personally like to use different codes each time because i hate routine!

Yeah, that's a good idea. Use different codes. I too like the system the way it is and think it should stay that way for now anyway.

I can't go on the phone system myself, but I get the idea of what you're talking about. But why not just use some other conference service. I even heard about one on here, it's VCOA.net

I haven't been able to check it out but it sounds pretty good from the website, and if I ever manage to get skype out or magic jack or something, i can try it. Just create a code over there, you can even choose more than four digits as your code. And nobody has to know you're even in private conference, unless they know the code.

Ik, the other night, there were 27 users on ZBP, and it lagged, and stuttered something aweful! For this reason, this is a bad idea. If we had an unlimited number of users, on one given conference, it would probably crash! Plus, as everyone said, there's no need for that many users. It would be Too kaiotic!

I have to agree with the post right above mine. I was on the system the other night when there were 27 people on at one time, and the system was so choppy you could barely hold a conversation. So I don't think this idea would be a good one. Plus, one of the reasons for private conferencing is so you can talk to certain people in private, without outside interference.

Yeah, I don't think this is a really good idea. The reason that private conferencing was created in the first place was for people to talk in private with out outside interfeerence. And like people said, an unlimited conference would be crazy. You wouldn't be able to hear anyone talk or anything. Even a private conference with ten people in it is crazy, so yeah ... not a good idea, lol
